My name is Jo Chivers and I am the inadequate, (yet persistent in my goal to be great), mother of two little girls, who have thankfully short memories and forgiving hearts. When I transitioned from having a full time career to being a full time mother, I felt like I had been hit by a ten ton truck. Nobody had told me that whilst I would love this little bundle of joy unconditionally, that some days I would be so knee deep in the stinky stuff, I’d be praying for the end of the day to arrive with a very large glass of wine. Moms these days have so many pressures put on us to be perfect, our magazines and T.V.s are filled with women like Nicole Richie, Tori Spelling and Angelina Jolie telling us how having a baby is the most glorious, fulfilling and blessed event that we could ever experience. And often, even our peers seem to buy into the myth that to say you’re having a bad day means you’re admitting to being a bad mother. Well no more ladies! I’m here to tell it like it is warts and all. I’m hoping that reading my blogs will make you laugh, make you cry, but most of all make you realize you’re not alone!
